We started with one rescued puppy and a dream — that no dog should be left behind. 8 years later, we've rescued over 500 dogs and counting.
In 2018, a group of animal lovers in Kuala Lumpur found a starving puppy abandoned near a construction site. That puppy — whom they named "Lucky" — became the catalyst for what would become Stray Dog Rescue Malaysia.
What started as weekend rescue runs by a handful of volunteers has grown into a registered non-profit organisation with a network of foster homes, veterinary partners, and over 200 active volunteers across Peninsular Malaysia.
We work closely with local councils, veterinary clinics and international rescue networks to tackle the stray dog population crisis through rescue, rehabilitation, rehoming and community education.
We're proud of what we've achieved — but there's still so much more to do. Malaysia has an estimated 1.5 million stray dogs, and every single one deserves a chance.
